Dunk Island is situated just 7 kilometres (4 miles) east of the unspoiled Queensland coastal vacation resort village of Mission Beach midway between Townsville and Cairns. Mission Beach is a 2.5 hour drive (approx 160km) from Cairns or a leisurely 3.5 hour drive (approx. 230klm) from Port Douglas, and a 15 minute (7km) boat transfer from Mission Beach to the Island.
